I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. I wish I could say mine was "guilt free". I woke up Sunday morning at 3 am. I know...who does that? ME! All the time. At about 8 am I ate and went back to bed. My boys were still snoozing away. I woke up again at 11 am and walked into the kitchen to find my darling children just finishing up making breakfast and a fresh pot of coffee in the pot. I was so tickled. They both wished me a Happy Mother's day and said breakfast is almost ready. Guess what terrible thing I said....thanks, but I'm not hungry. OMG! They will never let me live that down. I TRULY was not hungry. I am not one to eat unless I am hungry and had I known what wonderful thing they were going to do for me, I would have never eaten a bite that morning. I still feel so bad. I hugged and kissed them all day but it didn't help matters much. They also had a lovely card sitting here at my desk.

I haven't been real productive at this end. Partly due to Spring fever, lack of creativity, and 2 cats that get up here and lay in front of my keyboard when I am trying to work. I have many things to do around here...work in my flower beds, plant my veggies, paint...the list goes on. I am trying to devote the next couple of days to designing but this time of year I am easily distracted.

You should revel in your sons' desire to please you. I also got the most heart wrenching card from my son. It was all I could do to keep from crying, it was so sweet.
You have the same attitude towards eating when not hungry as my husband. He just had 7 hours of heart surgery on Apr. 27th and is doing great. He was the talk of the nurses on the ICU floor. The perfect patient....the most mellow they had every seen in all their years of nursing, always did what he was told, never complained, didn't try to pull his breathing tube out, etc. What a lovely man! I know how you feel, all that effort on a surprise breakfast that you just could not face! I remember years ago being fed coffee and marmite on toast in bed and I hate eating in bed ... bit different now as the girls are all mothers themselves so I usually try to get them to spend that special day with their own family and not come over to see me. A phonecall is all it takes, or a card left earlier in week to open. It is difficult to try to be kind and not seem that you do not appreciate the thought or care, I feel for you but they will get over it. Hugs from England, patW
