Okay..I know I posted already today but I just HAD to vent. I mention months ago about the telemarketers calling my house constantly. I still get those calls but not as much.
I love my bank but for what ever reason they give my number to these places that call wanting to sell me stupid crap. These people tell me the bank gave them my number because I am a preferred customer, more like, "possible idiot that might spend money on your useless product."
This woman calls and asks for me by name. This is her, I say. Then she proceeds to talk really fast without taking a breath. I have no clue as to what she is talking about....get map info...blah, blah, blah. I just listen, responding with a periodical..uh huh. and just for trying our service we will give you a hundred dollar gift card yours to keep even if you choose to cancel... Only $9.50 a month...All I need is some personal information. WAIT A MINUTE! I don't even know what you are selling!
No, would you like to try this? How does this sound to you? Just straight to... I need your personal information to get started.
What we are selling is your own personal assistant. If you need map information, hotel, anything, just call us and we'll get that for you. I already have TWO personal assistants. Google and Map QUEST...and they don't cost me $120.00 a year. Yes, but this way will save you time. OMG are you kidding me?
Gosh, I missed out on a hundred dollar gift card. Funny how she didn't mention what it was for. I guess that's how they try to rope you in. I probably should have asked just out of curiosity. I imagine it's for something just as lame. I can't call back and asks since it came in as a private call.
Ugh.

GGGGG Those calls definitely make you want to just scream :-)
I hear ya Pam, I know how frustrating that is (the telemarketers). Whenever they call me, before they even get started on their speech, I say, "Please take me off of Your list." As soon as they hear those words, they stop and say goodbye. this works really well. try it next time.
Also hate those calls.
You know you can go to www.donotcall.gov and register your phone no. to be taken off all the lists? Take care, love your stuff.
What astonishes me is that they keep making these calls because it actually works on some people. Why? How? Geez!
The recorded ones are maddening, too. You can write a letter to your bank telling them you choose to opt out of all offers.
I hate these calls as much as you, Pam, and have had my name added to the lists here in UK that prohibit this type of call but I still get them from abroad, mainly India I think from the accent and bad lines too. I do know one thing that always puts them in a tizz, I asky why, if the Bank has given them my details, do they require me to repeat them and I NEVER give personal information over the phone. These are usually con-merchants so sometimes I am afraid I just put the phone down right in the middle of their sales pitch! Does that make me a bad person ... I don't think so. Hugs from England, PatW
never trust the one's that come in as private name and number
